Sustainable Weightloss

Lose weight. For good.

Are you a young individual with a busy work and social life who wants to get lean and toned, build muscle and sleep better?

Are you a pre-menopausal woman or a 40+ man with a weight goal who would like to have more energy?

Are you an individual/couple/group with an occasion – a wedding for example – you want to be body-confident for, and beyond?

A tailored approach

An off-the-shelf diet written by some ‘guru’ might work in the short term but it’s not a long term strategy. A successful and sustainable weight loss is one that supports a homeostatis state of the body in which the internal environment is stable and constant.

At the moment, for example, plant-based diets are popular. And while industrial farming, and its many negatives, means you might want to consider a reduction in your meat consumption, it’s not quite that simple.

You see, weight loss isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. My holistic approach considers a smart training and eating programme that’s dependent on multiple factors that are usually overlooked in traditional, and recent, weight loss programs. The concept of Metabolic Typing – how gender, ethnicity, oxidative levels, toxicity, lifestyle, thoughts, and other genetic traits could directly affect the muscle to fat ratio – is one approach to weight management I like to explore.

Holistic is key

Some questions to ask include: What does your typical day look like? When, subsequently, is the best time to eat? Given where you live, what food is fresh, seasonal and abundant? Because of hormonal changes in your body at this time in your life, what vitamins and minerals do you need to deliver to your body to support gut health, growing or depleting bone density or brain functionality? You might have a challenging career, or a young family, and need to consider what’s viable in terms of food preparation or even making time to eat, uninterrupted, at the dinner table.

Food is only part of the story

Exercise, activity or movement is another. What gets you going? How does your body like to move? Do you love the communal, social energy of the gym or the lone meditative space of a run in nature? Sustained weight loss is going to be more successful if you enjoy the maintenance.
Depending on your preferences and your unique physical and psychological make up, I will either personally train you or partner you with a professional from my fitness community.
Training can be done at home, in your regular gym or at a recommended institute for specific disciplines, be that dance, SUP, hot yoga, spin etc. I am very willing to travel. This in-person training will be supplemented with a personalised online, diarised programme and I will suggest specific apps and tech to support eating and training protocol.

Setting goals

We will set goals based on accurate measurements of body fat, muscle mass, water weight etc combined with your age and gender and then monitor and adapt to your progress as we go.
I will never say, ‘no pain, no gain’, I’ll leave that to the Eighties. What I will encourage is positivity and a sense of humour. After all, the abs love laughter.
