Home Health
The health of our homes is often overlooked in favour of what we put in our bodies, but it is the foundation of our wellbeing.

Contact meThere’s a new term, ‘Toxic Home Syndrome’, related to the fact that we can be living with up to 500 chemicals with indoor air that’s 2-5 times more polluted than outdoors. Thankfully, there are solutions…
The pandemic had a far reaching effect on our lives. It forced us indoors and made us consider, more than ever, our relationship with our living spaces. 48 per cent of us now work from home (yet 89 per cent don’t have a dedicated work space. Read more on that below and in Workplace Wellness).
As such, it makes sense to support the physical and mental health of our family and pets with a healthy home. It may even identify the cause and prove the solution for chronic sickness elsewhere.
For decades, we’ve unknowingly welcomed artificial materials and toxins into our living and working spaces through paints, furnishings, appliances, and building materials, while sealing up the buildings with double glazing and draught excluders.
My holistic approach to health has inspired me to research this developing area and offer a unique service. An assessment of you home and plan of action might consider:
We will explore solutions that not only eliminate toxins from your environment, but improve your space so that it supports good health.
Good exposure to a natural full spectrum light throughout the day can create a healthy and balanced circadian rhythm, regulate our mood, behaviour and hormone levels.
Unpleasant acoustics in echoey rooms can be improved by adding pink/brown/white noise, furniture, soft furnishings, fabric drapes, rugs and curtains.
Environmental Particle Pollution can penetrate our indoor spaces creating respiratory problems, allergies and other health issues. A makeover will explore air filtration systems, increased ventilation, air humidifiers or dehumidifiers, and optimum temperature control systems and settings.
A ‘digital detox’ may not be possible 24/7 but where you house your wi-fi router and mobile technology is important to reduce impact on sleep, cellular health, and family time. Smart-tech may also help save money, and the planet.
Is your workstation supporting a healthy posture and how can it be improved? Can your equipment be more ergonomic? Is your work place in the best place for productivity? What is your stress release (physical and mental) plan during work hours?
Any of us with pets will testify that they are part of our family, and inspire as much love and care. According to 2018 research, cancer rates in our cats and dogs has increased so now more than ever we should be considering pet health. That includes the quality of their food (raw and cooked, depending on individual needs), water, sleep areas and more.
We will look holistically at your bedroom; your mattress, the components of bed linen, placement of your bed, colour, light, what appliances surround you and best practice for rest including sleep music and noise, story telling, essential oils, temperature, soft-tone light bulbs and light reduction, special paints to eliminate EMF pollution, etc.
We will recommend a selection of plants that are suitable for your space and easy to maintain. Houseplants reduce carbon dioxide, toxins, EMF, and release oxygen. They also act as natural humidifiers to keep moisture levels up.
